Saigon-Hanoi Train Fare Cuts

The Vietnam Railway Corporation has slashed fares by 10 to 22 percent on the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route, a company source said. The new fares will range from VND750,000 (US$47) to VND1,014,000 ($62.5). To mark Liberation Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1, which is both a National Holiday in Vietnam, the company has announced a discount of 20-30 percent for war invalids, disabled students, people aged 65 and above and selected other groups between April 5 and May 31.
