TipPublic Holiday

Prior to 2007, Vietnamese workers observed 8 days of public holiday a year among the lowest in the region. On March 28, 2007 the government added the traditional holiday commemorating the mythical Hùng Kings to its list of public holidays, increasing the number of days to 9.As in most other nations, if a holiday falls during the weekend, it is observed on the following Monday.

TipWorking hours

Governmental agencies work 8 hours/day from 7.30am to 4.30pm (excluding one-hour lunch). Saturday and Sunday are close.

Banks are open from 7.30am or 8am to 11.30am and from 1pm to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday are close. Private shops are open from 8am or 8.30am to 9pm or 10pm.

Restaurants are open till late, but any establishments that serve alcohol beverages outside of the Hotel Premises are usually closed by 1am.

You can find local food stalls selling midnight snacks and noodles till 2am in the morning. Most are usually located near or along the market.

Discotheques & Bars are closed by 1am.
